Office Management Specialists
“Office Management Specialists perform secretarial and administrative tasks, coordinate schedules, prepare for meetings, handle correspondence, and organize business trips. In doing so, they collaborate and communicate with internal and external partners.”
During their apprenticeship, Office Management Specialists rotate through various departments—including those in the political sector—such as Purchasing, Human Resources, and Finance, and also have the opportunity to become familiar with other organizational units (branch offices, executive board administration, district offices, and training centers) within IG Metall. Upon successful completion of the apprenticeship, permanent employment is guaranteed.
Cook
“Whether soups, salads, sauces, meat or pasta dishes, pastries, or desserts—cooks perform all tasks involved in food preparation. Once the menu is set, they purchase the necessary ingredients and prepare the dishes. In addition, cooks organize the workflow in the kitchen and ensure that meals can be served on time and in the correct order.”
We offer cooks job opportunities at various IG Metall training centers. Upon successful completion of the program, IG Metall offers a permanent employment contract for at least one year.
Practical and High-Quality
We offer our apprentices a training program that is varied, practical, and of a high standard. From the very beginning, apprentices are integrated into operational processes and the various areas of work. In addition to on-the-job training and attending vocational school, in-house training sessions and participation in IG Metall seminars are integral parts of the program.

Dates and Deadlines
Apprenticeship positions for Office Management Specialists are available annually at the IG Metall Executive Board Administration in Frankfurt. We also offer apprenticeship positions nationwide at our branch offices, district offices, and training centers.
The training program for chefs takes place at the IG Metall training centers in Sprockhövel, Lohr, Bad Orb, Berlin, and Beverungen.
