For a long time, the company resisted, but now the employer and IG Metall have also reached an agreement at AutoVision – Der Personaldienstleister GmbH & Co. OHG: Employees and the union were able to secure 1,000 euros in COVID-19 aid, an additional one-time payment of 100 euros, and a 2.3 percent pay increase reflected in the pay scale.
Temporary workers must be treated equally
The COVID-19 aid will be paid out with the July paycheck and applies to all employees who have been working at AutoVision since May 31 of this year. Part-time employees will receive a pro-rated portion of the special payment.
A particular success is the pay scale increase effective January 1, 2022. Employees will then receive 2.3 percent more pay—“an extremely important signal for future collective bargaining developments,” says Thilo Reusch, chief negotiator for IG Metall.
In addition, another special payment of 100 euros will be made in September to all temporary workers at Autovision. In the past, this one-time payment already applied to VW employees at Autovision—now it applies to all employees of the staffing agency.
Another contract logistics provider falls under the VW collective bargaining agreement
That wasn’t the only success this week. IG Metall was able to reach a collective bargaining agreement in negotiations with SAS Autosysteme GmbH—another VW contract logistics provider. This agreement takes effect on January 1, 2022, and stipulates that the collective bargaining agreements of Volkswagen Group Services GmbH will also apply to SAS employees in the future.
“This means employees will go home with a significant pay increase at the end of the month. In addition to the framework collective bargaining agreement, the wage agreement—including all supplementary agreements—of VW Group Services GmbH will also apply to the SAS workforce,” says Frederic Speidel, IG Metall’s chief negotiator in Wolfsburg.
