IG Metall Lower Saxony and Saxony-Anhalt and the Saxony-Anhalt State Metalworkers’ Guild Association have reached a collective bargaining agreement for workers in the metalworking trade in Saxony-Anhalt.
The agreement in detail
Starting January 1, 2026, wages in all pay grades will increase by 0.40 euros per hour. Six months later, effective July 1, 2026, there will be a further increase of 0.25 euros per hour. This will result in a 4.66% increase in wages in Pay Group 1, a 4.2% increase in the benchmark pay group, and a 2.5% increase in Pay Group 8.
Apprenticeship wages will increase as of January 1, 2026: by 30 euros in the first and second years of training, and by 50 euros each in the third and fourth years of training.
Apprenticeship wages will thus increase to the following amounts:
1st year of training: 780 euros
Second year of training: 880 euros
3rd year of training: 1,000 euros
4th year of training: 1,050 euros
The collective bargaining agreement is valid for 12 months, through December 31, 2026.
