2026 Collective Bargaining Round for the Metalworking Trade Employees in the Berlin-Brandenburg metalworking sector will receive higher pay

IG Metall Berlin-Brandenburg-Saxony has reached a collective bargaining agreement with the Berlin-Brandenburg State Metalworkers’ Guild Association.

The agreement in detail

Employees will receive a one-time payment of 600 euros, which will be paid out no later than with the September pay period. Part-time employees will receive a prorated portion of the payment. 

The base wage (100-percent rate) will increase by 0.65 euros per hour (= 3.85 percent) to 17.55 euros effective July 1, 2026. 

Apprentices will receive a one-time payment of 200 euros if they are in an active apprenticeship on August 30, 2026.

Apprenticeship stipends will also be increased by 50 euros as of July 1, 2026, for all years of training. They will thus rise to the following amounts:

• 1st year of training: 830 euros
• 2nd year of training: 900 euros
• 3rd year of training: 1,020 euros
• 4th year of training: 1,140 euros 

In addition, the collective bargaining agreement on vacation pay is being expanded. Employees with an ongoing employment relationship will receive an annual vacation allowance of 156 euros net starting in 2026—tax- and social security-free.

The collective bargaining agreement on wages and apprenticeship stipends has a term of 12 months.
