IG Metall Baden-Württemberg has reached a negotiated settlement with the Glass, Windows, and Facades Trade Association. The collective bargaining agreement brings higher wages and apprenticeship stipends to the approximately 7,500 employees in the industry.
The details of the agreement
Starting December 1, 2025, wages and salaries will increase by 2.2 percent, and by an additional 2.4 percent starting September 1, 2026.
Apprenticeship stipends will be increased in two steps: by 65 euros as of December 1, 2025, and by 50 euros as of September 1, 2026.
Apprenticeship stipends as of December 1, 2025:
- 1st year of apprenticeship: 990 euros
- 2nd year of training: 1,055 euros
- 3rd year of training: 1,110 euros
Apprenticeship wages effective September 1, 2026:
- 1st year of training: 1,040 euros
- 2nd year of training: 1,105 euros
- 3rd year of training: 1,160 euros
IG Metall negotiator Christian Schwaab emphasizes: “With this agreement, we are ensuring that employees see a significant increase in their take-home pay. This is an important step toward cushioning the rising cost of living—and at the same time, a signal that good work in the glazing trade pays off.”
In addition, the parties to the collective bargaining agreement have committed to working together to simplify the collective bargaining agreements—particularly with regard to the wage and salary scales.
The new collective bargaining agreements may be terminated for the first time on June 30, 2027.
