IG Metall and employers have reached a collective bargaining agreement in the second round of negotiations for the jewelry, watch, and precious metals industry in Baden-Württemberg. Under the agreement, the approximately 10,000 employees in southwestern Germany will receive pay increases in two stages.
The details of the agreement
Starting July 1, 2025, wages will increase by 2.0 percent, and by an additional 3.1 percent starting July 1, 2026. A one-time payment of 600 euros will be made by May 2025 at the latest. Apprentices and dual-track students will receive a permanent monthly increase of 140 euros starting April 1, 2025, and a further 3.1 percent increase starting July 1, 2026. The social component of the supplementary allowance (ZUB) will rise to 651.50 euros in 2025 and to 952 euros in 2026. In addition, improvements to the collectively bargained time off were agreed upon.
Yvonne Möller, chief negotiator for IG Metall Baden-Württemberg: “Special thanks go to the 1,400 colleagues who applied pressure through their warning strikes. There is more money, apprenticeship wages are rising significantly, and the provisions regarding time off under the collective bargaining agreement have been improved. This will make the industry more attractive—including for skilled workers.”
IG Metall Baden-Württemberg generally applies the collective bargaining results from the metal and electrical industry to the approximately 10,000 employees in Baden-Württemberg’s jewelry, watchmaking, and precious metals companies. The collective bargaining agreement runs through January 31, 2027.
