Login Issues for the Members' Area and Active Members' Portal

Can’t log in online?

Can’t remember your login password? Then please use the“Forgot Password” feature.

You’ll then receive a confirmation email with a link. Please click the link to reset your password. If you don’t receive a confirmation email, it could be because you don’t have an account with us, or because you registered your account with a different email address.

Do you no longer have access to the email address you used to register your user account? If so, please send us a message with your membership number and the subject line “Delete user account” to support@igmetall.de.

In that case, we’ll delete your existing user account for you. You can then create a new user account here.

Please note that for data protection reasons, we delete user accounts that have not been used for more than 24 months.

When registering, please be sure to include your membership number and date of birth.

To access the online services for members, please log in with your user account and enter your membership number and date of birth under “Personal Data” or in the “Add Membership Data” tile, if they haven’t already been entered.

After re-registering, you’ll then be able to access all services.

To log in to the members’ area on igmetall.de, you need a user account. Haven’t created an account yet? You can do so here in just a few steps.

Once you’re logged into your user account, you can change your login information—such as your email address or password—at any time under“Personal Data.”You can also subscribe to or unsubscribe from the InfoService newsletter there.

You can quickly and easily update your membership information—such as your address, phone number, bank details, or email address—directly in the members’ area, provided you have a user account. If you haven’t created one yet, you can set it up here.

Then log in to the members’ area and update your information in your Service Center. Alternatively, you can also report the new information to your local IG Metall office where you are a member. To do this, you can send a message or an email to your local office via the members’ area.

If you wish to correct membership information that cannot be managed or changed in your user account (for example: name, gender, membership dues), please contact the IG Metall office responsible for you.

After submitting your online membership application form, you’ll receive two transaction emails from us: one to activate your user account and another to verify your online membership. We ask that you confirm both emails within 14 days.

Note: If you do not receive the emails, please check your spam folder just to be sure.

If you already have a user account on igmetall.de, please log in with that account and complete the online membership application while logged in. This is the only way your membership application can be processed.

Alternatively, you can also use our PDF membership application form . Simply fill it out digitally on your computer, print it, and send it to your local IG Metall office. If you are already a member of another union, the application form can also be used to notify us of a change in your membership status.

If you’re active in your regional IG Metall office, we recommend that you check with your office to see if they can grant you access to the Active Members Portal. Only our regional offices are authorized to do so.

To log in to the Members’ Portal, use the login credentials for your igmetall.de user account— not the credentials for the “old” extranet.

If you do not yet have a user account on igmetall.de, you must first create one to access the Members’ Portal.

When creating a new user account, please be sure to include your membership number and date of birth.
