IG Metall is strong because it has many members. That means the more of us there are, the better we can secure good wages and working conditions. We ensure wage increases and a say in company decisions—and thus a more just working world with fair wages and salaries.

IG Metall is currently conducting collective bargaining negotiations with employers in several industries. Collective bargaining is about working together to secure more for us. The more of us there are, the stronger we are. What’s at stake? In an environment marked by the worst economic downturn in decades, looming job cuts, and transformation within companies, IG Metall is fighting for secure jobs now and in the future—and for higher incomes. That is what metalworkers are fighting for in the 2021 collective bargaining campaign.

Especially during the COVID-19 crisis, workers need strong union representation. Now more than ever, we need a strong IG Metall that stands up for workers during the crisis and beyond. Only well-organized workforces can pool their strength to overcome the challenges ahead in the workplace and navigate the crisis in the best interests of workers.
