Press Statement Supply Chain Act: A Decisive Step Toward Greater Human Rights Due Diligence Obligations

“The Supply Chain Act was in danger of failing at the last minute. That danger has now been averted. It’s good that the coalition partners have come to an agreement and that the back-and-forth over the draft bill has now come to an end. The compromise reached is a decisive step toward stronger human rights due diligence obligations with improved working conditions along the supply chain, which will benefit many workers. We call on the Bundestag to pass the law immediately. The issue of human rights due diligence obligations must not be swept up in the maelstrom of the election campaign.”
