Jörg Hofmann: “The development of a European cloud is long overdue. Data availability and security, as well as sovereignty in handling this information, are important for employees and for companies. For many small and medium-sized enterprises, the cloud is a prerequisite for driving innovation, launching digital business models, and maintaining closed value chains. IG Metall’s Transformation Atlas shows that digital business models are still uncharted territory for many SMEs. For this atlas, data on digital and ecological transformation was collected from more than 2,000 companies this spring. The cloud is also important for employees. Employee data protection is inconceivable without data sovereignty and data security.”
