PRESS STATEMENT IG Metall on the establishment of the Pension Commission

Christiane Benner, President of IG Metall, comments on the establishment of the Pension Commission:

“The Pension Commission established today faces major challenges: to achieve unity and consensus where there is still much disagreement, and to present results swiftly. The goal is a pension system that is future-proof, intergenerationally equitable, and distributively fair. Cutting back is the wrong approach; meaningful reforms and stabilization are needed, in the interest of young and old alike.”
