PRESS STATEMENT IG Metall Criticizes Delay in Short-Time Work Benefits

“There had been an agreement and communication that the short-time work benefits program would be extended. Our companies need it. It is therefore incomprehensible and dangerous to delay or even attempt to prevent an extension of short-time work benefits. This leads to uncertainty and even more layoffs. We need the extension as a bridge and a lifeline, especially in smaller companies. In our Nuremberg facilities alone, more than 2,000 employees are urgently dependent on the extension.”
